Ether Darter - Creature Concept

It's funny how much a design or painting can have ups and downs. There were parts where I did not like the first sketch I had, but really liked the idea. So I struggled a lot trying to make it look unique. It kept looking too much like a dinosaur, but I didn't quite want that feel for it. I wanted something a bit more alien, which is why I gave them those strange eye.. piece things. I also pushed the colors more than I usually would, but I really enjoy them. It's one of my favs now, haha.
